Script fixes for 0.4.1.39



  • Option to automatically refresh server list when entering the gui.


  • Ability to use message hud while loading missions or joining a server.



  • Fixed the chat scrolling issue. I hope for good this time.


  • Fixed hitsounds on dead players and destroyed assets. Again.


  • Fixed OOB death for Arena.


  • Fixed observer mode for Arena.


  • Fixed a crash bug with observer mode.



  • You no longer observe the flag if the player you were observing picks up and captures the flag.


  • Mines cannot be deployed on or next to inventory stations under the no base rape rule. There is also the option to turn this on permanently. This does not apply to deployable inventory stations.


  • Your team will now get a red chat message if the flag is mined.


  • Players that join a server while a vote is in progress will now see the vote hud.



  • The vote hud will refresh counts when players join and leave the server.


  • Leaving a server while a vote is in progress will now hide the vote hud.


  • The vote loop is now cancelled when the mission ends.


  • You can change your vote (yes or no) while the vote is in progress.


  • Cancelling the vote now works.



  • Voting when you are the only one on the server will skip the vote loop.


  • Changing the time limit now works.


  • A popup will show when connecting to a server with an earlier version of the scripting.


  • Flag finder now implimented, with option of how often to refresh the waypoint.



  • Fixed a spawn point of Roughlands and the flag teams.


  • Added a PlayerList group for scripters. The group stores information on all players on the server client-side.


  • Fixed client-side targedIDs over mission change. If you know what that means, you will be happy.


  • Body hit detection is now working as intended. Head, torso and leg shots can be used. If you want to add this to your own weapon, see the railgun scripting for the fix.



  • Railgun death messages now seperated into head, torso and leg.


  • Inventory stations now repair player to full health over time, instead of repair a fixed amount. You now only need to visit the station once to regain max health as a heavy.


  • Fixed a bug where you would not equip your weapon automatically if a station is destroyed, disabled or unpowered. You would also still be flagged as in a station and could not equip any weapons.


  • Added SetName server command for clients to change their name on the server. This does not effect the players client-side settings.



  • Added a hitsound for impulses, but only when there is no physicial damage done to the target.


  • Flag carriers can now have the flag knocked off them if they are hit by an impulse rated over 2000.


  • Deploying a inventory station at a severe angle is no longer possible.


  • Server scripting CRC checking implemented. Modifying the base scripting will cause the server to be listed as a Variant. Use the proper mod scripting if you want to make a mod.



  • Fixed team damage taking damage when the option is disabled.


  • Axed is now an included map. Thanks goes to Pakocino for making such a fantastic community map.







Balance Pass Changes for 0.4.1.39




Disc Launcher:



  • RoF decreased (reverted to old fire timeout of 1.0 but allow switching while reloading)


  • Damage increased (direct 1.3 > 1.5 indirect 0.8 > 1.5)






Ion Cannon:



  • RoF increased (0.125 > 0.075)



  • Projectiles velocity increased (430 > 650)


  • Damage decreased (0.3 > 0.2)


  • Spinup delay decreased (0.5 > 0.25)



  • Ammo regen delay decreased (500 > 150)





Plasma Gun:



  • Damage increased (direct 1.0 > 1.5 indirect 0.4 > 1.25)



  • Range decreased


  • Ammmo regen delay increased (2500 > 4000)


  • Damage scale vs lights decreased (1.0 > 0.5)



  • Damage scale vs heavies decreased (1.0 > 0.5)


  • Damage scale vs assets increased (1.0 > 2.5)


  • Shield drain vs lights increased (1.0 > 2.0)



  • Shield drain vs assets increased (1.0 > 3.75)





Grenade Launcher:



  • Damage decreased (direct 2.0 > 1.25 indirect 1.0 > 1.25)



  • Arming delay decreased (500 > 350)





Rail Gun:



  • Headshots are now in. They do 1.5x normal damage.



  • Leg shots now do 0.975 damage.


  • An aggresive projectile spread which is affected by the speed at which you are moving.


  • Ammo regen delay decreased (15000 > 8500)





Plasma Turret:



  • Tracking delay decrease (750 > 500)


  • Projectile velocity increased (90 > 115)



  • Accuracy increased (0.02 > 0.1)


  • Disabled damage increased (22.0 > 24.0)


  • Disabled when glued. Lasts five seconds.



  • Shield energy increased (0 > 90)


  • Energy drain per damage point increased (0 > 5)


  • Recharge rate increased (0 > 0.2)






Plasma Turret:



  • Disabled when glued. Lasts five seconds.


  • Shield energy increased (0 > 90)



  • Energy drain per damage point increased (0 > 5)


  • Recharge rate increased (0 > 0.2)





Generator:



  • Max damage increased (10.5 > 36.0)


  • Disabled damage increased (7.5 > 30.0)


  • Shield energy increased (0 > 120)



  • Energy drain per damage point increased (0 > 5)


  • Recharge rate increased (0 > 0.22)





Sensor:



  • Shield energy increased (0 > 30)


  • Energy drain per damage point increased (0 > 5)


  • Recharge rate increased (0 > 0.2)






Inventory Station:



  • Max damage increased (6.30 > 21.0)


  • Disabled damage increased (5.05 > 15.0)



  • Shield energy increased (0 > 30)


  • Energy drain per damage point increased (0 > 5)


  • Recharge rate increased (0 > 0.18)






Deployable Station:



  • Max damage increased (5.0 > 9.0)


  • Disabled damage increased (4.25 > 6.0)



  • Shield energy increased (0 > 12)


  • Energy drain per damage point increased (0 > 5)


  • Recharge rate increased (0 > 0.1)






Deployable Turret:



  • Max damage increased (3.5 > 6.0)


  • Disabled damage increased (2.0 > 3.0)



  • Shield energy increased (0 > 9)


  • Energy drain per damage point increased (0 > 5)


  • Recharge rate increased (0 > 0.1)






Mine:



  • Velocity check delay decreased (1000 > 150)


  • Arming delay decreased (1800 > 1500)



  • Trigger check delay decreased (500 > 250)


  • Trigger timer reduced (500 > 50)


  • Mass increased (0.7 > 100)



  • Damage decreased (2.0 > 1.3)





Grenade:



  • Mass increased (0.7 > 100)






Gravity:



  • Increased (-40 > -46)





Light Armour:



  • Min impact speed increased (55 > 150)


  • Speed damage scalse increased (0.0027 > 0.0055)



  • Jetforce increased (2500 > 2875)


  • Drag increased (0.004 > 0.008)


  • Max drag increased (0.005 > 0.01)



  • Minimum throw force increased (15 > 1500)


  • Maximum throw force increased (35 > 3500)


  • Energy drain per damage point decreased (20 > 10.5)






Heavy Armour:



  • Max damage decreased (8.0 > 7.5)


  • Min impact speed increased (42 > 117)



  • Speed damage scalse increased (0.0034 > 0.025)


  • Jetforce increased (3230 > 3714


  • Ion cannon ammo increased (250 > 300)



  • Grenades increased (5 > 7)


  • Mines increased (3 > 5)


  • Minimum throw force increased (15 > 1500)



  • Maximum throw force increased (35 > 3500)







The increase of gravity removes the floaty feel from the game. Instead of floating down to the ground at the same speed you will increase speed in the arc you are supposed to. As the gravity has increased, the jetforce and jumpforce has increased aswell to fight against the added force pulling you down.

Drag has also been increased to limit the top speed at which players can ski along the terrain. The limit is not too low for normal players to notice, but experienced players will no longer be able to hit 500+ with ease.




All assets now have shields and the shield module is more protective. The current shield settings will be looked over in the second stage of the balance pass, but for now it means a single light can no longer take down major base assets on their own from a distance.



The changes to weapon and shield damages now means that base trashing is harder than it used to be, with the exception of the plasma gun which now does more damage to shields but much less to players. The plasma gun is now suited towards base trashing, but has it’s limitations above ground.



New weapons for 0.4.1.39




Glue Launcher

The Glue Launcher lobs a big lump of blue goo that explodes on contact, but does no damage. Instead, it causes velocity changes to players and causes turrets to become stuck.

If the initial projectile hits the terrain or an interior, it will pop into several smaller blobs that when passed through will cause the same velocity changes.

The projectile is balistic, but is very light and goes quite a distance. It can, in theory, be used to slow distant players to a near halt, but due to the balistic arc it requires some skill to use at long ranges.




Impluse Gun

The Impulse Gun can be used to deflect other players, or just to give you an extra push. The downside to the impulse gun is if you are carrying the flag you will automatically drop it when hit.




Impulse Grenade

Uses the same basic theory as the Impulse Gun, but is less controlled so the impulse radius is greater. The same flag rule also applies to the impluse grenade. Also, unlike the normal grenade, you can only throw one impulse grenade every two seconds.

Oh boy! More toys to play with!


On a dev server I was able to use the impulse gun to make enemy players drop our flag. The gun can be used to spam the flag stand making it VERY tricky for players to get away with our team's flag.

I also have personal issues with some of the guns but I'll save that for the "Do you want to keep the changes" thread that you *promised* you would unlock after this update.

Also:
CRC check fails on customMapCycle.cs in the autoexec directory.
legends/scripts/server/autoexec/customMapCycle.cs failed CRC checking. Remove the file.
File CRC: -1054818781
Should be: 1365511131

Maybe the autoexec folder should be exempt from CRC checking.

No. For it to be a pure server, no custom scripts are allowed to be run.
What admin mod is that part of? Could probably put the scripting into Legends base if it's any good.

If there are issues with the linux installer, please send me a PM. It's been tested on several platforms, so there shouldn't be issues, but there always can be some unexpected things that pop up.

we'll stick that .sh file into the commnity wiki so the *nix guys can do stuff to it.

I still dunno why people hated the Railgun recoil more than the Railgun spread, recoil kicks ass! you get one good shot if your airborne (then you will be slower since recoil kicks you back), but if you're on the ground you can fire at will. we can make it look better than it did by moving the screen up/down after a shot.

I had a bit of fun trying to boost myself whilist trying to hold the flag... this is going to make the game feel alot faster once the techniques have been refined!!

There will be a minor update soon that adds the custom mission cycle script to base legends. Only server admins will need to update. I shall post again once it is done.

The minor update to include custom mission cycling is now up. The version number has not changed.

ALL SERVER ADMINS PLEASE UPDATE YOUR LEGENDS AND REMOVE "legends/scripts/server/autoexec/customMapCycle.cs" IF YOU USE IT.

EDIT: Made a boo boo. If you updated since I posted this post you may need to update again

Had some complaints about the lack of "Any" for mod and gametype on the server browser. They have now been added back in, but you will need to force an update (delete your version.inf file if on windows).

Well good work ilys but i dont have test it yet, i have a really bad ping on the Dallas Dev Server (500 and more) dont know why, i hope the other servers get updated soon.

Do we need another fast mirror for updates, map packs and such stuff...then i will upload some things this weekend.
