I assume this is what they use to make structures in tribes2,right?Well i finally got my worldcraft to work for me.How do i import it to my game of tribes2 and will it be the same way for legends?I made a test building..nothing special to see how to work this world craft,i think i saved it as a .map or something.Help can some one give me a lil step by step briefing on saving and importing the objects?

Hi,

Check these two tutorials on garagegames.com:
map2dif (http://www.garagegames.com/docs/torque.sdk/tools/map2dif.html) (Convert interior geometry .map files into Torque .dif...)
WorldCraft (http://www.garagegames.com/docs/torque.sdk/tools/worldcraft/index.html)

Some useful links/downloads are in Legends' download section (http://hosted.tribalwar.com/legends/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=7).
I'm new to this myself so I won't be of much help.

dont use the map2dif in legends download, I need to update that to the correct version. Search on www.garagegames.com for map2dif and download not only it but a graphical interface for it. I use MAP2DIF GUI. Once you export your map, open the map2dif gui and set the textures directory to the textures directory inside of legends (legends/data/interiors), and the output directory to legends/data/interiors/contrib (this directory will be part of the 0.4.0 release, it was added to clarify which interiors are added to Legends by the community, and which by the devs). If you have any more problems contact me in IRC or PM me here.

Also, check out www.planetquake.com/quark. It is an interior creator which has FULL torque support built in, and much more functionality and support for torque entities (movers, lights, etc). We recommend using this more than WorldCraft. Version 6.3 is what you want.

I spent approx. 2.5 hours today but the bloody thing would refuse to find the textures used. You might want to remove it from the Download section then.

heya nilfilter, i managed to get custom buildings in the game for use in custom maps or for whatever, using this, here is a link for a GUI version of map2dif i used it succesfully. map2dif GUI (http://expertctf.net/downloads/torquestuff/MAP2DIFGUI-1.0.008.zip)
also once you create and convert your objects from .map into .dif make sure you put the textures used in the same directory as the .dif files in legends. i don't know how to fix this but when i would add my building into a map legends would kick me out saying i didn't have the appropriate art unless i had the textures in the same directory as the .dif

Thanks sciswin.
I did downlad map2dif gui yesterday but can't try it at the moment as my desktop is undergoing a major overhaul at the moment, hope I get it back today.
Cheers

guys guys slow down just a hair...dang!!Naming files and stuff i never even heard of....can you send me picks of with the config should be like in world craft?Even if i am able to use textures and make a building i wouldnt beable to find it or get it to work anyway :(

i just need a step by step way of doing things and ill learn it just like that.

example:

1.set your build configs to this
2.set your game config to this
3. blah blah blah

something like that, basicly a small basic step by step proceedure to follow on how you would use world craft.
